I’m unsure why Optus Stadium wasn’t an option for the games where there’s no clash with cricket or concerts.

Why would change be needed at the APL? The Macedonia Park farce is on the WA government, and to a lesser extent the Glory, as far as I’m concerned. Struggling to see why you’re implicating the APL.

I agree with your point on Kuol. The only caveat I’d add is that the level of competition is much higher than A-League-level defences.

Not sure about friendlies. In his post-match presser, Warren Moon said there’d be five days off for the players before they come back for some intense training.

Sometimes it’s the APL shooting themselves in the foot, but with the 6:45pm kick-off, I can only assume that’s to preserve ratings in other states. Ultimately APL can’t control daylight savings time.

Still sucks for the home fans trying to get there after work/school.

Like a house of cards. Obviously they weren’t in the lead today, but it was definitely reminiscent of last week against Central Coast. Get their heads down and can’t find a way to get back in the contest.

I’m also dumbfounded by Lacroix’s form. It’s such a marked degradation.

Cheers, mate.

The Reds were good but hard to give them a really accurate grade because of Western’s shoddy performance. Really looking forward to their clash with Victory – a win for either team will make a statement.

To be fair, Danzaki is still a long way from goal. It wasn’t just Andy who disagreed – Vince Rugari didn’t like the call either, and personally, I don’t love it (biased as I may be).

It’s something every sport struggles with at one point or another. I think it’s worth talking about but as I said, it’ll get tiresome if it’s a talking point every single round.

The numbers are concerning. I don’t know what’s going on in Brisbane but from simple numbers it looks like they need to be at a proper modern ground in Suncorp (even though she’s not that young).

I’ll keep an eye on it but it’s a bit tiresome to cover crowds and ratings every week.

Sydney and Macarthur playing pretty cavalier football, while Wanderers are far more solid defensively. Will be interesting to see where each side finishes on the ladder.

I didn’t focus on the Topor one because I thought it was pretty clear-cut. The impact might not have been severe but the potential implications were pretty bad.

It’s an absolute farce. Building their own ground was a cornerstone of their bid and they’ll have played six seasons, at least, before it’s even ready. Ridiculous.

Indeed. It was always a risky signing, but I could see the merits in it. Looking like he won’t feature before the World Cup, which is almost 25 per cent of the season gone.

That’s definitely true about the Roosters and NRL crowds, but I think TV/streaming is where their bread is actually buttered.
AFL are in the unique position where, at least in Melbourne, they’ve got highly engaged fans going to the ground and watching on the box.
Every sport inflates crowds at times, I’d just prefer that we didn’t get involved.
