I make up supporting Bangladesh and Arsenal by being a Melbourne Storm fan. Cricket, league and football fanatic.

Australia also needs a celebrity to hype em up. Dwayne Johnson just posted on Instagram congratulating the Samoan team on making the final. Gave a speech on pressure and legacy. Meant every word he said and didn’t look like it was any sort of PR at all. Samoan boys will definitely gain more confidence off that.
'One we’ll try and target': Munster hatches plan for Suaalii but won't fall for Luai wind-up tactics
That was some outstanding batting at Pune that night. Idk why he doesn’t back himself to play more shots in Test cricket. Not saying slog every ball, but look to score more often
'I'll take some rest': Cummins forfeits million-dollar IPL payday as Aussies face 106 days play in busy year
With all due respect to Pat, he’s never set the world alight in IPL. Price tags definitely affected him at KKR. He skipped UAE leg of IPL 2021 and KKR made an incredible comeback to make it to the final. IPL sides will be happy as they won’t have the marketing pressure to bid for him. He’ll get some good rest after the Border Gavaskar Trophy, and then be fit for Ashes and WC

On the EPL side of things, St James Park and Anfield are the most daunting grounds to be playing as the visiting side. I wonder whether Samoa can handle the English crowd at St James Park. Some of the best players have crumbled due to the intense atmosphere.
Under pressure on biggest stage: The 13 who face make or break situation at World Cup
Great read Dutski
Re Fins – They’re not building a side to win comps straightaway. They’re looking for some stability as a side for the first few years and create their own identity imo. I’m excited to see how Bennett gets a spine of Hammer, Milford, Sean O’Sullivan and Marshall-King gel. Especially SOS. I was impressed by him when he had to slot in the halves this season for Penrith. Next year, he gets to lead a side on his own with his kicking game and three Storm forwards who will provide great leadership
Each NRL club’s biggest gamble in 2022

Players need to stop going to NCA for recovery. It’s becoming a joke at how they’re making minor injuries into major problems. Bhuvi, Wriddhiman Saha, Chakravarthy and now Bumrah. Pandya did his recovery post injury outside of NCA and now he looks much fitter
How can India overcome the loss of Jasprit Bumrah in the T20 World Cup?
If there’s anyone who needs to be dropped, it’s Steve Smith for Green. Can’t remember Smith looking solid in a T20 game with the bat. I can understand why he was picked for a T20 WC in the UAE on slower pitches to combat the spinners. However, on good wickets here I can’t see him getting the job done. I remember one innings where Australia got 190 or so vs India at SCG in 2020. Smith scored 46 (38) and then India went on to win in the final over
Finch should step aside for red-hot Green to give Australia best chance of winning World Cup
Dropping Finch from the T20 team is nowhere near the right decision. His last six innings – 174 runs at a SR of 162.62. He’s done fine in the T20 arena since he found form in Pakistan. Important not to mix his ODI failures with his innings in T20I games.

Dean had been out of her crease many a times throughout her innings. She deserved what had been coming at her
Ridiculous and pathetic or 'no crime?': 'Mankad' madness erupts as England loses T20 series 3-0 to India
Stay in your crease and this doesn’t happen. Gets me riled up when the Mankad is talked about as if it’s a war crime. Ironically, Sharma did it at the Home of Cricket – where you can find the rules and see she did nothing wrong.

I have no problem with Victoria doing what they did. However, white ball games must always be played on grounds with sufficient floodlights. No white ball game should ever be played at Junction Oval until they fix the floodlights. Umpires and players had their hands tied unfortunately
No gentleman's game: Is DLS ruining cricket?
It’s a shame how the Sezer situation panned out. If DCE had not signed for them originally, Titans don’t let Sezer go.
The ones who got away: Gold Coast Titans
Agree with you Mike. I don’t see Rob Holding missing out on a Europa League game if he gets sent off in a FA affiliated competition. Time the NRL used this approach as well. If you make an illegal tackle in the NRL, you serve that suspension during the NRL. Not during Origin, All Stars or internationals.
Rule that threatens to turn World Cup opener into a farce and rob fans of chance to see NRL's best
Firstly, great article Tim. Made your point well. Having gone to the game with my mates (they aren’t the biggest league fans, but we all went together as Uni makes us have bugger all time to hang). They loathed what they saw. Origin three this year was between two sides who loathed each other, but never went overboard with the HIA’s there being purely incidental. On Sunday, neither side controlled their emotions (well the majority of the players) and thought about themselves and getting one over the opposition player instead of going to win.
That game was anything but brutal. It was borderline thuggery.
Who needs to take responsibility for the state of rugby league?
1. Hardik is not a 5th bowler. We saw that against Pakistan
2. Pant shouldn’t be anywhere near the T20 team so he’s out for me as well. If you want a left hander, there’s this bloke called Axar Patel who should’ve played Asia Cup post Jadeja’s injury
This Indian squad cannot win the T20 World Cup
Takeaways for me
1. Both sides yesterday didn’t go to win, they went to injure the opposition players. Klein did his best, but neither side kept their cool yesterday. Was anything but a rugby league game
2. Poor public transport options post full time will turn away fans from attending games at Allianz. When there are 40k fans at Moore Park, you can’t have one light rail and one bus going to Kingsford/one light rail to Randwick every 10 minutes. Absolute farce yesterday and last week. Mates and I decided to walk an hr and then catch a bus home. If this happens during T20 World Cup games at SCG this yr, expect a half packed crowd come the semi final. NRL and other sporting codes need to work with the government to ensure there’s at least more buses post full time for fans to have access to on match days at Moore Park
NRL finals week one talking points Round 25: Away teams win three out of four
Congratulations to Zimbabwe. They have some quality players and to bowl out the Aussies for 141 without Muzarabani is huge.
Humiliation! Australia STUNNED by Zimbabwe in historic first after latest batting disaster
That ODI will be the weirdest ODI I’ll have seen on Australian soil. Unlikely heroes from both teams
Unexpected events during Australia’s home seasons (2009-2022)
It’s the fact that a depleted Storm outfit went to Penrith and kept them scoreless is what will annoy Ivan even if he had outs. The side that Bellyache has named for this week is what we’ll likely see come finals (Tepai should come in by next week imo) and that’s gonna make the Storm a real threat. After the Rabbitohs loss, I did believe that top four looked unlikely. But last weeks victory gives me hope. Too much? Well only time will tell
Experts Roar: Who is Panthers' biggest threat - Storm, Sharks, Roosters, Cowboys, Rabbitohs, Eels?
I think the three week suspension was an eye opener for him and how he was isolated from the rest of the training group. Robinson won’t deal with that BS when Cheese joins em next year. Hopefully he doesn’t take his position as an NRL player for granted anymore and can give us one last title before moving up north.
The curious case of Brandon Smith: A unique player with hot-and-cold form who could spark Storm title run
A lot was speculated on how his tenure as Maroons coach was. Probably some too harsh especially with personnel dropping like flies for him in the first two games. Life truly is unfair that Green didn’t get another opportunity to showcase his coaching skills at another NRL club. Personally would want the Roosters and Cowboys to name every fixture they play in from now on the Paul Green cup.
'We cannot find the words': Tributes flow for former star player, premiership-winning coach Paul Green
With the way Eddie has gone in pre season, I’m looking forward to him and Pepe possibly in a front two together in cup and Europa games. Hopefully, this time Arsenal cope better when it comes to being a goal down.
Is this the season Arsenal return to the top four?
2007 Asian Cup – didn’t take us to semis (fail)
2008 Olympics – knocked out in group stage (fail)
2014 J League – sacked in less than 10 games in charge without a win (fail)
2019 Asian Cup – didn’t take us to semis (fail)
2021 Olympics – knocked out in group stage after losing the first game (fail)
2022 WCQ – Lost a WCQ game at Olympic Park. We never lose there. Especially in big games. Anyone else as manager and that’s a sackable offence.
At what point is the FFA gonna realise that Arnold is nothing but an A League bully who can’t hack it anywhere else? We used to be the top dogs of Asia and absolutely give it to the European and South American boys under Ange. Now we’re a laughing stock in our own continent, let alone the world. And don’t give me the players are worse bs. If the manager has consistently failed to get results, then they should be under the microscope. All because of blokes like Robbie Slater and other clowns who over exaggerated the criticism of Ange are we in this position today.
