When he batted at #6 for WA (in his last red ball game ) he scored a ton.
Agar getting his turn could be another unlucky break for Maxwell’s chances of Australian return in any format
Records are on paper. Bowling in partnerships impacts on the field.
Not totally meaningless: The few things Australia can glean from ODI series win over England for World Cup tilt
Limit the NSW quick representation actually improves the side. Competition is good. Starc thinks there’s too much cricket. Rest him.

With Agar’s batting, we can have a 3 spin attack…although India has become more of a pace bowlers breeding ground.

It will be interesting, also, to see Agar bowl in Canberra. Batted beautifully in this, his first red ball game in 19 months.
There might be value in rotating players out of white ball games when there’s a Shield game on, not to “rest” them but to give them some red ball cricket.

Yes.
It’s almost as if people who didn’t attend actually like cricket enough to tune in. Funny that.
Unless, of course, they didn’t go, didn’t watch, didn’t care…but still took time to make pronouncements about cricket’s demise.

He is only interested in BBL captaincy. I’m sure he knows Oz captaincy is not in the frame.
Besides, Travis is also firming to be head of the team, not just head of the order.

Starc had to be dropped in the WC. He, Cummins and Finch were anchors…not of an innings but to anchor them against progress..

Agar bowled beautifully, batted really well and fielded the house down…and once again, batted beautifully last night against the new ball.
The absolute certainty is if you play him, he never let’s the team down.

His 18no off 10 balls indicated that the other night.
You can’t do more than bat appropriately and productively in the respective formats.

The media has an insatiable demand for the product because the public has an insatiable demand for the product.
That’s because cricket is popular with cricket fans. Those who want 15 minute pop-games are never the target audience. Cricket has enough fans.
The eMpty CG: Record low turnout in Melbourne as Head and Warner have tons of fun in crushing win
Did you watch any of Agar’s batting against the second new ball in Canberra?
Cuts, pulls, drives and immaculate defence…until the end. Terrific.

Loved it.
Such a lovely little walk down memory lane. Geez Kim Hughes was reliable.
I’d prefer a bit of selection change than having the same players in every format until they choose to retire.
One crazy summer: Why selections of Australian cricket team in 1979-80 still impossible to work out
You might need to wipe down your keyboard after that rant

None of that mentioned here.
This is the cricket section of The Roar. By all means, bring stuff in for fun but if you need to intrude on everyone just for some ideological one-upmanship, you indicate a neediness that is better served elsewhere.
Follow the thread and you’ll understand what I was referring to.

That’s fine. We’re commenting on the game and it’s presentation, not each other.

Can’t tell the difference. To me it looks like fat blokes falling over, standing up, running 2 metres and falling over again…and so on.
Just not my game.

You can believe that 5.08 is no good…but you’d be silly in thinking that.
Agar, only 7 ODIs in Australia? What an indictment on the selection process. A man can hardly build a statistical profile getting one game a season.
You seem to think his fielding and his batting is irrelevant and economy is his only skill.
Hard to sustain a substantial argument when you do that.

If you watch it, you’ll change your mind. The game of cricket has not changed; the attention span of sporadic cricket fans is what has changed.

Maxi was not close to a Test return. I’m a Maxi fan but his form in white ball cricket has dropped off so he was never going to be selected on the basis of current form.
'We certainly cared': Maxwell hits back at claims Australian team's not passionate enough
I have never indulged in an attack like Chum’s. I identify totally with Peter Darrow. Just flat bat the fools.

Now there’s a dull sport.
