It will be interesting, also, to see Agar bowl in Canberra. Batted beautifully in this, his first red ball game in 19 months.

There might be value in rotating players out of white ball games when there’s a Shield game on, not to “rest” them but to give them some red ball cricket.

Yes.

It’s almost as if people who didn’t attend actually like cricket enough to tune in. Funny that.

Unless, of course, they didn’t go, didn’t watch, didn’t care…but still took time to make pronouncements about cricket’s demise.

Starc had to be dropped in the WC. He, Cummins and Finch were anchors…not of an innings but to anchor them against progress..

Agar bowled beautifully, batted really well and fielded the house down…and once again, batted beautifully last night against the new ball.

The absolute certainty is if you play him, he never let’s the team down.

The media has an insatiable demand for the product because the public has an insatiable demand for the product.

That’s because cricket is popular with cricket fans. Those who want 15 minute pop-games are never the target audience. Cricket has enough fans.

Loved it.
Such a lovely little walk down memory lane. Geez Kim Hughes was reliable.
I’d prefer a bit of selection change than having the same players in every format until they choose to retire.

This is the cricket section of The Roar. By all means, bring stuff in for fun but if you need to intrude on everyone just for some ideological one-upmanship, you indicate a neediness that is better served elsewhere.

Can’t tell the difference. To me it looks like fat blokes falling over, standing up, running 2 metres and falling over again…and so on.

You can believe that 5.08 is no good…but you’d be silly in thinking that.
Agar, only 7 ODIs in Australia? What an indictment on the selection process. A man can hardly build a statistical profile getting one game a season.
You seem to think his fielding and his batting is irrelevant and economy is his only skill.
Hard to sustain a substantial argument when you do that.

Maxi was not close to a Test return. I’m a Maxi fan but his form in white ball cricket has dropped off so he was never going to be selected on the basis of current form.
